Omega Opthalmics Shares First Public Implantation of Its Omega Gemini Refractive Capsule

Gary Wörtz, MD, chief medical officer of Omega Ophthalmics, allowed attendees of the Ophthalmic Innovation Summit @ ASCRS to see the first public implantation of the Omega Gemini Refractive Capsule.

Designed primarily for cataract patients, the Gemini Refractive Capsule has been found to improve vision and solve effective lens position, but it also maintains a space where future lenses, biometric sensors, and augmented/virtual reality devices could be implanted.

Omega Ophthalmics Receives Successful Animal Study Results

Lexington, KY – December 21, 2015

Omega Ophthalmics is pleased to announce the successful results of its animal study for a prosthetic capsular bag.

The animal study was performed by Drs. Nick Mamalis and Lilliana Werner at the University of Utah. The study, which lasted four weeks, was designed to prove form and fit in rabbit eyes using the latest prototype of the Omega device.
