Omega Ophthalmics, LLC announces the appointment of John W. Sheets, Jr., Ph.D., as Chief Operating Officer.

John brings experience and leadership to Omega Ophthalmics, LLC, with a career spanning senior roles in industry and government within the ophthalmology field. His experience includes serving as Senior Vice President of Corporate Research at Boston Scientific, Head of Global Research and CTO at Bausch + Lomb, Global President and CEO of HOYA Surgical, CTO of Johnson & Johnson’s ETHICON, Director of the FDA’s Office of Device Evaluation, and Vice President of Surgical Research & Development at Alcon.

John will lead Omega Ophthalmics, LLC’s operations as the company continues product development, intellectual property, manufacturing scale-up, and regulatory planning for the investigational Gemini Capsule.
